The Teachers Environment Fund is a grant that helps schools, TAFEs and CITs make their environmental projects a reality. Grants of up to $2,000 are given bi-annually to help schools with their environmental projects.
Typical projects used by teachers in sustainable education programmes include:
- Water and energy savings
- Habitat conservation, biodiversity, tree planting
- Chicken coups, Worm farms
- Outdoor learning areas
- Waste, recycling and composting projects
- Aboriginal cultural projects
- Vegetable and kitchen gardens, organic produce
